How many illustrations does a children’s book need?
A standard 32-page picture book usually carries art on most spreads — commonly twelve to fourteen illustrations, some full-spread. Early readers and chapter books use fewer, spot illustrations. We’ll map the exact number to your page count and age band before quoting.
Will I own the illustrations and characters?
Yes — completely. On completion, full rights to the artwork and characters transfer to you, and we deliver the layered source files. You’re free to use them for sequels, merchandise, marketing and future editions without further permission.
Can you match a specific art style I have in mind?
Yes. Bring references — books, artists, moods you love — and we’ll develop an original style in that spirit (not a copy of another artist). During the style exploration stage you’ll see directions to choose from before we commit.
How long does illustration take?
A fully illustrated picture book typically takes six to twelve weeks, since character design, layouts and final spreads each need care and your approval at each stage. Spot-illustrated chapter books are quicker. We’ll give you a schedule with your quote.
I’ve written the story but it’s not laid out — can you still illustrate it?
Absolutely — that’s the usual starting point. We’ll break your text into spreads, plan the page-turns, and illustrate from there. If you’d like, our layout and printing services then take the finished art all the way to a physical book.
